We know that medical bills can sometimes feel confusing and overwhelming. At Jefferson Health, we believe that worrying about finances should never get in the way of your recovery. Our goal is to make managing your bills as simple and stress-free as possible, so you can focus on what truly matters—your health.

Your final bill is based on the specific care you received, including the types of services, the time involved, and your individual insurance plan. To help you keep everything organized, we’ve built easy-to-use tools directly into your Jefferson MyChart account.

Simple Ways to Pay Your Bill

Payment is typically due within 15 days of receiving your statement. You can choose the method that works best for you:

1. Pay Online Securely with MyChart (The Easiest Way):

This is the fastest way to view your statements and make a payment anytime, day or night.

  • Log in to your Jefferson MyChart account.
  • Navigate to the “Billing” section.
  • Follow the prompts to pay securely with your credit card, debit card, or electronic check.

Locked out of your account? Don’t worry. Just click Forgot Login Information and select either ”recover epic ID?” or “recover myjeffersonhealth account?” on the login page to quickly reset your information and regain access.

2. Pay by Mail

Prefer to send a check? You can use the return envelope and mailing address provided on your paper statement. Representatives are available to help you Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may also e-mail customer.service@jefferson.edu for assistance with your bill.

3. Guest Pay (Perfect for Family & Friends)

Is a family member or caregiver helping you out? They can make a payment on your bill without needing a MyChart login. They can simply use our secure **Guest Pay** portal online.

Important Information About Your Bills

Understanding Separate Bills (Professional Fees): Your hospital bill from Jefferson Health does not include charges from your personal physician, surgeon, radiologist, or other specialists who interpreted your tests. You will receive separate bills for their services directly from them. Please use the contact number printed on each of those individual bills for any questions.

Your Insurance: While we will work directly with your insurance company, you are ultimately responsible for any charges not covered by your plan. If you have questions about your specific coverage, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly.

Financial Assistance is Available

If you are uninsured, underinsured, or having difficulty paying your bill, you may qualify for help. We offer Financial Assistance programs and can help you apply for Medical Assistance or Medicare.
